dragon german figure 1/35
Another diorama fresh off the workbench:) Also in scale 1/35, "Trommelfeuer" shows a german soldier in his dugout in a trenchline somewhere on the eastern front, patiently trying to control his nerves through a heavy artillery attack, waiting for the flood of Russian infantry and advancing T-34 panzers to storm the positions as soon as the artillery stops.
Figure used is from Dragon, all painted with Vallejo Model Color and Mig Pigments.

My latest diorama I ve been working on the last few evenings. It is scale 1/35 and the figure used is from Dragon. I wanted to show parts of a German trenchsystem and Mg position in a little "eastern front scene". I decided on the layout and found a wooden base and began cutting some styrofoam scraps I had lying around. I glued the styrofoam pieces together, fixed it to the base and then cut it to shape. I pencilled up where I wanted the trenchline to go and cut it making sure not to make the trench too deep as they often was quite shallow.

The next step was to cover the styrofoam and for this I used some wallfiller, and when it had dried I sanded it smooth. Then I brushed PVA glue to the areas which would have sand and vegetation and sprinkeled fine sand and tiny rocks over it and set it aside to let it dry some hours. Those hours was used to paint the figure and the equipment. I used Vallejos Model Colors for this but used black pigments for the "shadowing". I found some Archer SS decals which I used for the arm eagle,ss runes on the helmet and the collarboards. I also painted some ammo drums, spare ammo belts, handgrenades, a Stg 44 and a Panzerfaust which I was going to place in the fighting position.

When the base had dried I sprayed it with Primer and then gave it a black coating. The soil was painted with a few shades of brown and I used several random colors for rocks. Where the dug out soil hadnt covered the vegetation I brushed on some PVA glue and sprinkeled Reality-in-Scales Forest in a Pot mix.
I used Epoxy glue when attaching the figure and all the other bits to the base and covered up the spills with some pigments and before I gave it all a dark wash from Mig Productions I glued on a handful of spent Mg casings from Adlers Nest.
Hope you like the result :)
