Some years ago I worked at a large ww2 museum. The director had been collecting a lot of this nazi christmas decorations which is very rare stuff as much of it was destroyed and denazified after the war. I often brought my camera to work and luckily I found all the pics on an old memorystick. So here it is, a few pics from when the moustached Grinch stole christmas some 70 years ago.
When the German people came under the nazi regime they was promised a "New Era". They would remove the ruling traditions and revive the old pagan ways mixed up with new nazi traditions. One of the things to go was the christian influence on christmas, that should not be allowed anymore. The symbols had to be switched with old norse and new nazi symbols which resulted in some quite bizarre decorations. Some years ago I worked at a large ww2 museum. A silver birch beer stein with christmas greetings. Decorative dishes with christmas greetings for different units. Christmas cards. Woodcut made in POW camp where Norwegian resistancefighters and enemies of the nazis was kept.

Some of them could be fakes yes,but I know much of the decorations shown here came from very reputable dealers and collectors. To spot fakes you need to know what to look for but I am no expert on these items:)
