Since I was digging in Priekule this spring and used my pinpointer under water it didn`t work right so a few days ago I ordered a new one, which I can use under water. It came with the mail this morning so I picked it up at the post office and went straight to the forest.
The first 11 signals I had today was all k98 rounds spread across a few meters, and the next 4 or 5 signals I dug was uniform buttons. Digging all these I got to test the pinpointer a bit and I really like it. It has different settings for sensitivity and sound, but I didn`t try any of them today,I just used it on the standard setting. I like that it is orange, it makes it so much easier to not loose it.
The next few signals I dug was also a little bit "symetric", first signal was a fire place with several german batteries. Then I found a small dumping pit and in there was also two batteries, but I never seen ones like these before, flat and square and with russian markings and I hear water in them when I shake them.

After I had something to eat I continued searching and suddenly I had a nice clean signal. It was a small signal but the pinpointer found the metal instantly. It was a small german coin, 5 Reichspfenning, a bit worn but in nice condition really. Only a few meters away I got a large mixed signal, a dumping pit. It seemed to be a small one but still, I love dumping pits, anything can come out from it. Unfortunately I wasn`t lucky with this one, it was only broken stuff except a few bottles.

A couple of hours went by searching, trying to dig every signal given by the Fisher F5 but between the nails, food tins and wires was only a rifle cleaning kit and a karbid lamp, also quite rusted. Again there was a strong mixed signal and this time it was a more interesting dumping pit. The top of it was a thick layer of broken bottles but I got it removed carefully. The first metal I got dug out was three bits of a stove pipe and underneath those was 6 or 7 bottles. I kept pulling out food tins and rubbish and the hole got deeper and wider. I started cleaning up the sides of it and found two bakelite Rosodont toothpowder boxes and some suspenders made from rubber. I then began to move soil and try to find the bottom of the pit. I kept working on it until it began getting darker and the stomach was howling. I had pulled out a lot of bottles and rubbish metal but the pit seems to be deep and I will just have to continue it one of the next days.
Until then,have a great weekend:)
