The next signal the Fisher gave off was again a strong mixed signal so I took off my backpack and opened up another dumping pit. It was a good layer of rocks on top and the ground was also rock hard here so it was difficult to dig at first, but when I got that top layer away it was sandy and easy to dig. It proved to be quite a big pit this, I dug it for a few hours and removed a lot of rubbish, but inbetween a few nicer items got touched by a human hand again after 70 years. It was mostly leather bits that had survived in this pit, I found two k98 ammo pouches, one was in a sad state, but the other one was quite nice and surprisingly it had a bayonet frog stuck on the back. The other leather bit was a fieldshovel belt hanger. I also found some flares, a few k98 casings, a rifle cleaning kit, a losantin tablet box and a rosodont box. On the bottom of the hole was a nice beer bottle, well marked.
It had been a good day,the bag was filled with relics and it was getting dark so it was time to leave back home.
Stay happy,,and muddy:)
