The exhibition is based around the local military history, ww2, the Cold War and modern International Operations. There is plenty of items to study but I felt it was a bit messy, lacked info and texts and the lighting was often bad and sometimes missing so they could do with some improvements. But, if you are a history geek the museum is well worth a visit! When we got back outside again the Girlfriend ran around a bit and climbed the tank before we jumped into the car and drove home :)
The two previous summers the Girlfriend and I missed the chance to visit a local military museum, the Troms Forsvarsmuseum, but this year we managed to get there. It is located in Setermoen, ca in the middle between Narvik and Tromsø. The museum have a small collection of vehicles and weapons which one can have a closer look at on the lawn outside the museum building. The entrance fee to see the rest of the collection is 70 Nkr pr person, which we paid in cash as they do not take cards, so remember to bring real money. They have a small museumshop with some books and a few souvenirs. Also by the entrance is a lot of mimiature models displayed. This one-shot gun had been constructed in secrecy by Soviet POWs before the liberation in 1945.
