I spent much of my spare time there bunker crawling in some of the countless installations the germans littered the area with during their occupation, and since I have been interested in WW2 since childhood I guess it counts as a semi self biographical diorama.

When my passion for metal detecting and relics merges with my other passion, miniature modelling, the result can be things like these helmet dioramas. I think it is very fun to create small scenes from the particular battlefield the helmet was found, trying to catch a glimpse of the past.

I wanted to make a diorama showing an example of those wooden shelters somewhere on the Eastern front.

After many evenings sanding plastic parts, gluing bits together, painting, swearing and repainting, this project is finally done.

Recently I completed painting this gem of a figure. It is 120mm and from the portugese manufacturer RPModels.
